cool brunch for a hot summer

Too hot for outside fun, try an inside brunch.  Everyone loves bacon.  I had one recently with bacon, egg casserole, pancakes, bloody mary's, beet salad, homemade tomatillo salsa and mango salsa and fresh fruit.  


Now if I could just get that pool installed in my backyard.

The cold blustery day this winter was great to find the new bakery in downtown Durham.  Welcome winter, have some chocolate croissants and cheddar and garlic bread.  A small storefront on 111 W. Parrish Street, Durham, NC 27701.  They even have some sandwiches I might try for lunch during the week.

Try it, you'll like it. Loaf.

It's that time of year again.  Thankfully slightly cooler than last year.

Best Canoe snack

While I love to have some outdoor adventure like canoeing, really I like to plan out a lovely snack or meal to eat outdoors.  Here we have nice little salad I made from the framers market (mostly) made up of strawberry, blueberry, butter lettuce, goat cheese and toasted almonds.  I put the raspberry vinaigrette dressing I made in a separate container.
